On October 24, World Polio Day, the four Mississauga Rotary Clubs convened at the Mississauga City Hall to hoist the End Polio Now flag, underscoring Rotary International's enduring commitment to obliterate Polio worldwide. Club President Richard Blake, alongside our Rotary Exchange Student from Japan, articulated the strides made since the ambitious mandate was adopted in 1985. With Polio's presence confined to Afghanistan and Pakistan, the global initiative, bolstered by partnerships with the World Health Organization since 1989 and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is on the cusp of fulfilling its mission.

The Board conducted a special session following the unexpected resignation of RI President-elect Mário César Martins de Camargo on 8 June. Based on RI code and policies, the Board selected the new president-elect from a pool of candidates who were considered by the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International in August 2023.
