From November 17th to 19th, the Rotary Club of Mississauga West orchestrated a memorable weekend for Rotary Exchange students in Districts 7080 and 7070, fostering camaraderie and cultural exchange. The event kicked off with a scenic tour of Hamilton's breathtaking waterfalls, offering the students a glimpse of Canada's natural beauty. The highlight of Saturday was the festive Streetsville Christmas Market, where the students immersed themselves in the holiday spirit and even snapped a photo with Santa Claus. The day was capped off with a creative 'Paint Night,' where they artistically captured the Toronto skyline.
On Sunday, the excitement continued at eZone, where the students engaged in exhilarating games of whirlyball and laser tag, creating lasting memories. This enriching weekend was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Rotary Clubs of Mississauga West and Mississauga, along with District 7080. Special thanks are extended to the Rotary Club of Streetsville for their warm hospitality at the market.
The success of this event is also attributed to the generosity of host families, including Liz, Dee, Ellen, and Ghada, whose kindness and support played a pivotal role in this cultural exchange. Their hospitality exemplifies the spirit of community and global friendship that Rotary stands for. This weekend was not just an occasion for fun and sightseeing, but a valuable opportunity for these young minds from diverse backgrounds to connect, share experiences, and build international friendships that will last a lifetime.
