Rotary Youth Exchange is back for RC Mississauga West! On August 24th our club welcomed 17-year-old Sho from Kanazawa Japan. He will spend 11 months in Mississauga, living with host families, going to Port Credit High School, attending Rotary club meetings and events, and learning the culture of both Canada and of the other students who have also come into 7080.
While Sho is enjoying Canadian life and learning English, our club has sent a Mississauga girl, Sarah, to Finland. She is already enjoying a very different culture, different food, and a different way of school. All the while she is attempting to navigate life in Finnish!
Sho has already jumped into helping within the club. On August 25th the last Movies In The Park night took place, and Sho was there – learning how to make popcorn. He had great success!
Rotary Youth Exchange's motto is “Create Peace in the World – One Exchange At A Time”. These two students will have a most amazing, challenging, inspirational year ahead of them. We can’t wait to see their progress.
